Duncan golf dominates tourney
Despite bad weather later in the day, local high school girls golf teams took to the tee box on Monday at Fort Sill Golf Course in one of the first tournaments of the season.
And while the city schools had some standouts, it was Duncan who dominated the competition at the Lady Highlander Invitational, with five of the top seven golfers.
The Demons finished the tournament with a team total of 306, winning by a full 70 strokes. Altus finished in second place with a score of 376. Clinton had a score of 392, good for third place.
MacArthur finished fourth with a team score of 396.
Vanessa Moore of Duncan was the top individual with a score of 72. Right behind her was teammate Lynlee Graham with a 76. MacArthur's Raegan Kennedy and Brooklyn Bostick of Duncan both shot a 77 to tie for third.
Adriana Glance of Clinton finished fifth with a 79 and Duncan's Madie Marsch finished sixth after shooting an 81.
